Bronx Beta is a bold reimagining of the middle school experience that places career-connected learning at the center of early adolescent development, as the first CTE-focused middle school in NYC Public Schools. Opening as a grades 6-8 school with a long-term vision to expand through grade 12, it integrates rigorous, standards-aligned academics with project-based learning across three pathways, Smart & Sustainable Cities, Global Health & Biotech Futures, and Financial Futures, so students design real solutions and present their work to industry partners. Rooted in the South Bronx, where residents face persistent disparities in healthcare access and environmental health, Bronx Beta gives students with the least access to high-growth fields an early path into them, graduating with work-ready skills and certifications that meet New York City’s requirement that contractors hire CTE graduates.
