Futurist-in-Residence, Senior Director Organizational Design

Jennifer Ferrell Lo, MBA, is a design futurist, researcher, and innovation leader whose work explores the intersection of emerging technologies, human connection, and societal well-being. As Futurist-in-Residence and Senior Director at IDEO, she leads complex, future-focused engagements across healthcare, technology, media, and the public sector, helping organizations navigate uncertainty and design ethically responsible futures. Her practice blends strategic foresight, systems thinking, and human-centered design to illuminate how AI and other emerging technologies are reshaping emotional health, identity, and social infrastructure. Jennifer serves on the faculty of UC Berkeley’s School of Public Health and the DeGroote Health Leadership Academy, where she teaches futures thinking, innovation strategy, and leadership for complex environments. In 2025, she was selected as an Aspen Institute Innovation Fellow, recognition of both her research on the future of loneliness and belonging and her broader contributions to shaping humane, connected societies. A widely published writer and speaker, Jennifer’s work appears in IDEO Journal and Rotman Management Magazine, and she has been featured at SXSW, VIVE, and on IDEO’s Creative Confidence podcast.
