Dr. Daniel Helena is an administrator at Alliance Kory Hunter Middle School in South Los Angeles. He has the unique experience of having taught students at all grade levels—from kindergarten to graduate school. Dr. Helena’s dissertation, Not the Anti-Racist Meeting Feeling Racist: Black Educators’ Racial Battle Fatigue in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Professional Development, was named UCLA’s 2023 Outstanding Ed.D. Dissertation. In his spare time, Dr. Helena becomes DJ Catur. Whether in a school setting or at a social function, Dr. Helena/DJ Catur enjoys giving back to others by creating fun and meaningful moments.
