Trenace Dorsey-Hollins is a fifth-generation Fort Worth resident, proud public school parent, and founding Executive Director of Parent Shield Fort Worth. Parent Shield is a movement by and for parents who demand excellence in Fort Worth ISD. Rooted in advocacy, awareness, and the provision of tools to Black and Brown families, Parent Shield disrupts systemic inequities that fuel generational trauma.
Focusing on Fort Worth’s most marginalized communities, Parent Shield meets parents where they are — at their door, at schools, libraries, and community events — hearing directly about their dreams and challenges for their children. The organization believes every child deserves an excellent education and advocates to ensure a high-quality education is a reality for every child in Tarrant County.
