Jason Borges is a literacy leader and specialist. His journey began over twenty years ago teaching in alternative schools in Massachusetts for students with disabilities. He has served in the Special Education Office in New York City Public Schools as Senior Director of Intensive Interventions, Director of Academic Intervention Services (AIS), and Executive Director of Literacy, AIS, and Library Sciences in the Office of Curriculum, Instruction, and Professional Learning. Jason views literacy as a foundation for educational justice and has been committed to developing learning environments where all students build the skills needed to engage with and adapt to an ever-changing world. He now serves as the Principal of Central Brooklyn Literacy Academy, where he leads the design and implementation of a school model dedicated to supporting students with language-based learning differences through structured literacy and inclusive, research-based practices.
