As Grantmaking Operations Manager, Destiny works closely with investment teams across the full grantmaking cycle — from application through post-award processing — bringing cohesion and continuity to NewSchools’ work with prospective and funded ventures.
Growing up in Flint, Michigan shaped Destiny’s belief that the most effective solutions are built with and by the communities they serve. She has spent her career working to center that principle across education and healthcare systems — ensuring organizations build processes that reflect the needs and voices of the people they serve.
Prior to NewSchools, Destiny was a Senior Implementation Manager at TRAILS, a school mental health initiative in Michigan. She partnered with school leaders to implement mental health programming and led a statewide equity initiative to expand mental health access for students in under-resourced communities, grounded in local voice and context.
Destiny holds a background in Health Administration and Public Health and is a passionate advocate for mental health and neurodiversity. Based in Detroit, she enjoys discovering new restaurants around the city, walking her dog Luna along the riverfront, and tackling interior design projects.
