Van Ness

Van Ness Elementary is a diverse PreK-5th grade school in D.C. Public Schools that focuses on socio-emotional learning, tiered behavioral support rooted in the ​Conscious Discipline program, and student ownership. Van Ness is codifying core elements of its model, including its “Strong Start” practices, and is supporting pilot schools in D.C. Public Schools to implement it. After this initial pilot phase, Van Ness plans to support additional schools within and outside of D.C. to implement core elements of its model.

Valor Collegiate Academies

Valor is a three-school CMO that developed​ Powered by Compass​, a comprehensive human development model focusing on social, emotional and academic growth for both teachers and students. The unique model is centered around five values: aligned actions, sharp mind, big heart, noble purpose, and true north, and uses the concept of a circle for students to share their progress with a community of peers. Valor intends to refine the ​Powered by Compass​ model, streamline implementation, and measure impact as the model scales.

STEMbyTAF

TAF is a 22-year-old organization with a mission to equip students of color for success in college and life through the power of STEM education. TAF created STEMbyTAF: an emerging model provider with plans to partner with schools in Washington State integrating best-practices in equity, STEM integration, interdisciplinary PBL, edtech, and college and career readiness.

Roscoe Independent School District

Roscoe has developed a model for school system transformation spanning Pre-K through postgraduate education to prepare students for college and high-demand careers. The approach combines Montessori Pre-K, high-quality STEM programming, college readiness, and higher ed & industry partnerships. Leveraging the Senate Bill 1882, the district will create a non-profit to support other districts in Texas in adopting its instructional model.

Place Network Schools

Place Network, stemming from Teton Science Schools, is a network of 11 PreK-12 rural schools implementing a STEM-focused, mastery- and place-based learning model. The model, focused on students in underserved, rural communities, runs seven programs, each with three components: virtual schools, place-based learning, and professional development resources and platform.

MIND Research – STMath

MIND is a content provider devoted to ensuring all students are equipped to address the world’s most challenging math problems. MIND built Spatial-Temporal Math (ST Math), a visual instructional math program for PreK-8 students, now serving 1.2 million students in almost 4,000 schools. With our support, MIND is now developing ST Math Prime, a K-5 model that would offer lesson content, teacher support, and a tech platform, all designed to complement the existing digital puzzle games. If these pilots prove effective, this offering would be a full-suite math solution for schools.

Intrinsic

Intrinsic Schools built their model starting with the student characteristics they believe are critical for success, and then layered in technology to enhance the experience needed to develop these characteristics. Their two main tenets for the use of technology are that technology should drive differentiation and should allow teachers to facilitate small group instruction. All students have computers and are grouped in grade level pods, upwards of 60 students guided by a team of three teachers.

Girls Athletic Leadership Schools Inc.

Girls Athletic Leadership Schools (GALS) operates four schools in Denver and Los Angeles. The GALS Inc. curriculum and pedagogy aim to help young women become lifelong learners and engaged citizens through self-expression and mind-body development.

Bard High School Early Colleges

The Bard Early Colleges offer public school students a tuition-free, liberal arts college education as part of their four-year public high school program. In freestanding satellite campuses of Bard College that also serve as public high schools, students are taught by college faculty in undergraduate seminars and receive up to 60 college credits and an Associate in Arts (A.A.) degree from Bard College alongside a high school diploma.

AppleTree

Appletree is committed to closing the achievement gap before children get to Kindergarten. Through its early learning model, Every Child Ready (ECR), AppleTree provides three- and four-year-old students with social, emotional and cognitive foundation. The model supports schools with curriculum, professional learning and assessments and an overall opportunity to expand into pre-K. Today, ECR is delivered to 22 charter schools in Washington, D.C. and New York City.
