Latino Education Advancement Foundation’s (LEAF) mission is to improve outcomes for Latino students and families in East San José by providing college enrollment and persistence support, student and family career preparation assistance, and educational equity and systemic change advocacy. LEAF’s Familias Unidas del Este de San José Fellowship (FUES) is builds local Latino families’ capacities and abilities to advocate for equitable funding for East San José’s K-12 schools. FUES is built on the belief that every low-income, Latino student is entitled to an equal opportunity to succeed in higher education and pursue the career of their choice to obtain social and economic mobility.
