BE NOLA is launching the Black is Brilliant Institute. The Black is Brilliant Institute is a six month paid fellowship for New Orleans’ Black teachers that provides a wellness and learning space. This fellowship is rooted in educators’ and students’ community cultural wealth and is dedicated to teachers’ pursuit of preparation, wholeness, and liberation. The Institute elevates educators’ connections to their Community Cultural Wealth and develops their ability to teach content that is connected to the “ground under their students’ feet.” The Institute offers a fusion of holistic development previously unavailable to Black teachers in New Orleans.
