Kathy Villavicencio

Education Leader

As a first-generation college graduate and native of Miami, Florida, Kathy’s commitment to the success of young people began almost two decades ago when she spent several years teaching middle school science as a New York City Teaching Fellow. The experience changed the trajectory of her professional career, and since then, she has worked tirelessly to repay the educational debt owed to students from historically marginalized groups. Kathy leverages her expertise in strategic planning, communications, data analysis, and stakeholder engagement to help organizations realize long-lasting impact for the communities they serve. She has held leadership positions in urban school districts as well as various non-profit organizations. In addition, she was selected to participate in the 2018 cohort of the Broad Residency in Urban Education. Kathy’s proudest accomplishment is her daughter, Paloma.
