Michael was born to be a writer, an educator, and an agitator. If you ask him where he is from, he may have a hard time answering, but places like Orange County, the Mojave Desert, and New York City would definitely be among the places mentioned. All of this moving as a kid gave Michael a deep appreciation for stillness, and he can often lose himself in reading, yoga, or just sitting and listening. Currently, he serves as an Instructional coach at Carver STEAM Academy in Atlanta. When he’s not coaching, collaborating, or cooking, Michael is studying the intersection of equity, self-care, and great teaching. He believes that teaching can and should be a sustainable, life-long career and that all children have the right to choose their own books.
