Dermoth Mattison, founder and Executive Director of South Shore Charter School, is a New York Charter leader with 15+ years’ experience in school leadership. A former teacher and principal, he’s led schools in and around NYC to outperform districts by over 45 points in both literacy and math. In 2021, he founded South Shore Charter School to provide a high-quality education to families in Central Islip, NY. He is passionate about advocating for educational equity in under resourced communities.
