Lacey Allen is an Associate Partner on the Learning Solutions investment team. She supports early-stage innovators with ideas that can accelerate student growth and equitable outcomes, along a spectrum of solutions.
Prior to joining NewSchools, Lacey led external partnerships for College Board’s scholarships program impacting over a million students a year. She partnered with and supported educators and leaders as they expanded the program throughout their schools, districts, and states. Before that, Lacey bridged research and practice by leading qualitative research projects and facilitating workshops with educators at Search Institute, a youth development research organization.
Lacey began her education career teaching college access classes and facilitating social emotional learning workshops to middle and high school students. She also served as both an AmeriCorps and Peace Corps volunteer. Lacey currently serves on the board of the Weyerhaeuser Family Foundation and previously was a Josie R. Johnson Leadership Fellow with the African American Leadership Forum.
Lacey has a Masters in Youth Development Leadership from the University of Minnesota and a B.A. in Communication from Washington State University. She lives in Brooklyn, New York with her husband and their two cats and dog. Outside of work, she enjoys exploring new restaurants, reading graphic novels, and tending to her many plants.
