As Chief Operating Officer, Delicia leads efforts to share evidence and insights that catalyze action in the education field, ensures responsible fiscal stewardship of NewSchools, and oversees a user-centric operations team that powers a high-performing organization. Previously, Delicia served as Chief Strategy Officer and Chief of Staff at NewSchools, working closely with leaders to shape and operationalize organizational strategy.
Prior to NewSchools, Delicia served as the Chief Strategy and Investments Officer at Good Reason Houston, where she led on strategic planning, learning and evaluation, investment management, district partnerships, and the oversight of finance and operations. Before that, she was a Senior Manager at the Monitor Institute by Deloitte, advising nonprofit and foundation leaders on strategy and growth. Delicia’s commitment to education also saw her supporting YES Prep Public Schools as an Education Pioneers Graduate Fellow, focusing on a long-term talent strategy to identify and nurture future school leaders.
Delicia holds a B.A. in Computational & Applied Mathematics and Managerial Studies from Rice University, and an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth. She lives in Houston and enjoys traveling, playing with her dog, Darcy (a nod to her favorite book, Pride and Prejudice), exploring her family’s genealogy, and cheering on Houston’s sports teams.
