Amy Omand is responsible for the overall financial and operational management of NewSchools. She oversees the annual budget and forecasting cycles, grants and contracts, financial reporting to stakeholders, and maintaining an excellent ecosystem of technology tools and systems to allow our team to do their best work.

Prior to joining NewSchools, Amy had financial leadership positions at Tipping Point Community, Revolution Foods, and Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream. She began her career as an auditor at PricewaterhouseCoopers, and she is a Certified Public Accountant as well as a Certified Non-Profit Accountant.

Amy received her BS in Accounting from Georgetown University, and MBA from UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business. She lives in Oakland with her husband and two children, and she can be found hiking with her two dogs, rock climbing with her NewSchools colleagues, or eating Thin Mint cookies while watching This is Us.
