After spending 20 years in classrooms K-12, Mardi Gale came to WestEd in 1992 as a Regional Director for the Mathematics Renaissance Middle Grades and K-12 initiatives, funded by the National Science Foundation. These initiatives worked with schools for systemic change, to build capacity, and improve mathematics instruction. In addition, Gale was an Associate Director for the Mathematics Renaissance Leadership Alliance, designing professional development and working with districts to develop leadership teams. She was a member of the evaluation team for the California Mathematics Professional Development Institutes, and conducted academic audits, under the direction of WestEd’s Comprehensive School Assistance Program.

Note: NewSchools Ed Tech virtual convenings are developed and shared with ventures as part of our virtual accelerator program. When possible, we also make recordings of these presentations available to the broader ed tech community.
