In Pursuit of Justice
By Stacey Childress | April 21, 2021
The past year has laid bare the pernicious effects of structural racism and its impact on people of color, especially Black Americans. Through George Floyd’s life and death, and the recent trial, we are reminded of the moral imperative of racial justice. Yesterday’s verdict brings some measure of accountability. But there is much more work to be done.
Despite a nationwide racial reckoning, Black Americans continue to be killed disproportionately by police, and people of other races continue to be the targets of violence and hate. At NewSchools, we remain committed to partnering with all of you to create a more equitable education system as part of the larger pursuit of justice for all.
It’s one of the best ways we can honor the life and legacy of George Floyd. Stay on this journey with us.
