Live from Summit 2016: Rapid-Prototyping to Address Critical Student Needs
May 10, 2016
This interactive and innovative workshop was led by Rich Crandall, Director at Intentional Futures, and formerly an Associate Partner at NewSchools Venture Fund and the K-12 Lab Director at the Institute of Design at Stanford. The session gave entrepreneurs the opportunity to think about the critical student need areas identified by NewSchools and how to incorporate them into their companies.
The session featured a “design thinking workshop” which consisted of ideation and sketching, collaboration, and discussions around shared learning. The participants noted that the design process Crandall shared was valuable in how to think about their own product development.
Also discussed were critical needs areas highlighting the need to establish a culture to foster social collaboration throughout the year and provide consistent opportunity to ask and answer authentic real-world questions.
