Rainier Valley Leadership Academy Elementary is a public school that will launch in Seattle, Washington in Fall 2022. The school intends to serve 500 scholars at full enrollment across grades Pk-5. Social-emotional well-being for scholars and staff is a cornerstone of our instructional model. Beginning in PK, our curriculum emphasizes collaborative community through Indigenous circles, course work, and inviting elders in to preserve ancestral knowledge. RVLA’s anti-racist environment and decolonized curriculum provide ample opportunity for inquiry and leadership, cultivating scholars’ analytical skills reflecting on pre and post colonialism across disciplines, infusing identity work with interdisciplinary rigor and real world connections.
