La Promesa is a public school that will launch in Houston, Texas in Fall 2021. The school intends to serve 600 students at full enrollment across grades 9-12. La Promesa will focus exclusively on students who are new to this country and provide a curriculum that addresses their unique needs. The school will develop a rigorous, academic college-readiness education and a strong support system that develop students’ knowledge and skills to lead and thrive anywhere. Staff will work with students and families to create a strong sense of community with six core outcomes for La Promesa students — Resilience, Growth Mindset, Social Awareness and Respect, Agency, Biliteracy, and Technological Literacy.
