Tiffany Cheng Nyaggah
Tiffany is a Partner on the Diverse Leaders team. In this role, she leads the team in its investment, management assistance, and thought leadership activities, and coaches entrepreneurs working to advance racial equity in education. Prior to NewSchools, Tiffany served for 10 years as the Executive Director of Dignitas, a leadership development organization she founded to provide quality education to children in informal settlements in Kenya. Her work contributed to the prioritization of education in informal settlements leading to $65M in related investments from USAID & DFID. Before Dignitas, Tiffany was a researcher with Harvard’s Public Education Leadership Project (PELP). Her case studies covering education innovations in the US have been used in graduate courses at Harvard, Stanford, and other universities.
Tiffany began her career as a college admissions counselor and high school teacher in her hometown of Oakland. She currently sits on the board of several education organizations, including Surge Institute – Oakland and Kigutu International Academy. Tiffany graduated from Wellesley College with a B.A. in Psychology and holds an Ed.M. in School Leadership from Harvard University. She lives in Oakland with her husband and son, and enjoys international travel, learning languages, and finding late-‘90’s hip hop dance parties.
