Tyler Litt (she/her) is the Senior Associate Partner on the Innovative Public Schools team. In this role, Tyler serves as a generalist, supporting both selection and diligence and management assistance initiatives.
Tyler has focused her career over the last decade on disrupting and challenging systems that prevent students and families from accessing quality education. The idea that “genius is evenly distributed, opportunity is not” has been the driving force behind her love and passion for supporting organizations that provide equity, joy, and strong standards for students to cultivate their genius.
Prior to joining NewSchools, Tyler served in place-based philanthropy as Senior Director of Community Investments & Equity at New Schools for Baton Rouge. She oversaw the recruitment, grant diligence, and relationship management of school, talent, and community partners. There, she launched a family engagement community of practice for school leaders, a citywide unified enrollment platform, and capacity building incubator for education-based nonprofit organizations. Her love of education is connected to a family with deep ties to education and health equity leadership. Her educator experience spans over a decade, where she taught middle school science before teaching high school science and directing admissions, and coordinating a student success program. Tyler earned her B.S. in Biological Sciences from Loyola University of New Orleans.
In her free time, Tyler loves taking her god-twins to the park (or wherever they want to go), spending time with her grandmother, serving on several young professional and economic development boards, and indulging in all things Louisiana: festivals, food, and fun.
