Katiusca Moreno is a Senior Partner at New Schools Venture Fund. In her role, she leads the Diverse Leaders investment area, which aims to increase teacher and leadership diversity in education and also support diversity, equity and inclusion capacity builders and organizations that equip parents to advocate for positive change.
Prior to joining New Schools, Katiusca was the Vice President of Internal Learning and Innovation at Teach For America, where she designed learning structures and processes to improve performance and power innovation across the organization. Before that, Katiusca worked at the New York City Department of Education, designing and facilitating professional development for administrators. She began her career in education at New Leaders for New Schools, where she led various efforts to train and support aspiring urban school principals.
Katiusca’s commitment to educational equity connects to her early experiences working with Latino youth in New York City. She organized and mobilized students to address inequities in their communities and advocate for change. Katiusca earned her doctorate in Education Leadership at the Harvard Graduate School of Education and her bachelor’s degree from New York University.
Originally from New York City, she currently resides in Los Angeles. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, weightlifting, and spending time with her dog, Hazel.
