PLA is a school operator that works to transform underperforming schools into the high-quality schools children deserve. The PLA model is a collection of best practices, including professional development, a coaching cycle to develop teachers, enrichment opportunities for scholars, and authentic partnerships with parents. We supported PLA in offering this model to three schools under a new type of lighter-touch contract in 2018-19. If these types of partnerships prove successful, it could pave a path for future expansion of this approach.
