NewSchools invests in the most innovative, promising, early-stage entrepreneurial organizations working to make a difference in public education for students from low-income communities. We are currently making investments as part of the following funds.
Learning to Teach Fund
The NewSchools Learning to Teach Fund seeks to transform teacher preparation in the US by connecting it to outstanding real world practice and by holding programs and individuals more accountable for their impact on student achievement.
The NewSchools City Funds support the growth of entrepreneurial organizations that can dramatically improve education for students from low-income communities in targeted urban and high-poverty areas. We are currently operating City Funds in Washington, DC and Boston, MA.
The Seed Fund
Through the Seed Fund, NewSchools invests in entrepreneurs developing education technology tools, applications, content, and services that will significantly improve education opportunities for children from low-income communities. The Seed Fund was created to make investments in early-stage, pre-Series A education technology companies often overlooked by the traditional investing community because of their focus on schools.
