Julie Petersen
Julie Petersen is the Communications Director at NewSchools Venture Fund, where she oversees the firm's communications and publications strategy.
Prior to joining NewSchools Venture Fund, Julie spent three years as a writer at Red Herring Magazine, a business and technology magazine, where she covered venture capital as well as a range of other beats, including education, entrepreneurs and startups. In 2001, she was named one of the "30 Under 30" business journalists in the country by TJFR, for her online and print writing at Red Herring.
Julie graduated from Vanderbilt University with a BA in English, and earned a master's degree in journalism from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism.
