Cara Delzer
Cara Delzer is an Analyst at NewSchools Venture Fund, where she focuses on investment strategy, due diligence and management assistance for the firm's portfolio ventures on the West Coast.
Prior to joining NewSchools, Cara was a 2004 Teach For America corps member in San Jose, CA. She taught first grade at L.U.C.H.A. Elementary School, a small school that opened in 2004 in the Alum Rock School District. At L.U.C.H.A, Cara planned monthly family field trips, created project-based science and social studies curricula, served as the GATE liaison, and assisted with staff development. In addition to teaching, Cara mentored new corps members teaching at her grade level and led a Teach For America study group that focused on gender dynamics in the achievement gap.
Cara holds a bachelor's degree in History and Literature from Harvard University.
