April Chou
April Chou is a Principal at NewSchools Venture Fund, where she focuses on building the NewSchools Network, a community of education, nonprofit, policy, and business leaders working to accelerate the pace of education reform.
Prior to joining NewSchools, April spent more than five years as a management consultant with McKinsey & Company in San Francisco, Beijing, and Washington, DC, where she advised clients on strategy, organization, and operations. As a Nonprofit Practice Community Fellow there, she served nonprofit clients and helped strengthen the firm's knowledge base about the nonprofit sector.
April received her bachelor’s degree from Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs. April completed her graduate work at Stanford University, where she received a MBA from the Graduate School of Business and a MA from the School of Education. While at Stanford, April led the Stanford Management Internship Fund (SMIF) and the Board Fellows Program, two student-initiated efforts to engage business students in the nonprofit sector.
