Laurene Powell

Founder and President of the Board, College Track

Laurene Powell Jobs is Founder and President of the Board of College Track, an after-school program that prepares under resourced high school students for higher education. College Track continues to work with students through college graduation. Through its three centers in the San Francisco Bay Area, College Track provides a comprehensive program of academic support, leadership training, community service and extra-curricular involvement. In the summer of 2008, College Track will open its first center in New Orleans. Founded in 1997, all of the program's graduates have completed their secondary education and have been accepted into college.

In addition to her work in education reform, Laurene has a strong focus on non-profit entrepreneurship, with an emphasis on women's human and economic rights. Her board affiliations include Global Fund for Women, NewSchools Venture Fund, Stand for Children and EdVoice. She also serves on the Advisory Board of Stanford Graduate School of Business and the Center for Community Partnerships at the University of Pennsylvania.

Laurene holds a B.A. and a B.S.E. from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from Stanford University. She lives in Palo Alto with her husband and three children.
